Acute Medical Problems in Pregnancy

The South West London & Surrey Heartlands hosted a successful Tools for Practice Day on Acute Medical Problems in Pregnancy on May 10, 2024, at the Everyday Conference Centre in Wimbledon. The face-to-face event was hosted by the leads of the South West London & Surrey Heartlands Maternal Medicine Network – Obstetric Physicians Dr. Lila Mayahi, Dr. Siara Teelucksingh, lead midwife Ms. Carolyn Romer and our business support officer Mrs. Emily Ward.

Featured speakers included Dr. Ayona Wijemanne, Dr. Matthew Cauldwell, Mrs. Rita Moura, Dr. Naina Mohan and Dr. Dominic Paviour. Additionally, case presentations were conducted by our subspecialty trainee in maternal-fetal medicine Dr. Becky Liu and clinical fellow Dr. Mudishya Abeywickrama.

The event was well-attended by emergency physicians, midwives, anaesthetists, GPs, and others from the network and beyond. It was a great success, providing valuable insights and information on managing acute medical issues during pregnancy.
