The majority of women and birthing people with medical problems in pregnancy may be managed at their local units, but our Maternal Medicine Centre (MMC) at St. George’s Hospital is equipped to handle the most complex cases, providing specialised care as needed. We strive to support local units in delivering the right care at the right time and place, integrating with regional and national care models to ensure optimal maternal health outcomes.
Our regional maternity facilities include Epsom & St Helier Hospitals (co-hub for renal disease), Croydon University Hospital, Kingston Hospital, East Surrey Hospital, Royal Surrey County Hospital and Ashford & St. Peter’s Hospitals.
South West London & Surrey Heartlands Maternal Medicine Network aims for all women and birthing people with medical conditions to receive the best possible care by upholding shared protocols and guidelines. This includes multidisciplinary management by experienced obstetricians, physicians, and midwives. We focus on addressing healthcare inequalities by ensuring all women have equal access to specialised care, keeping women at the centre of our care.
